Abstract
This volume is the product of the 10th International Congress of the Hispanic Society of Philosophical Anthropology and is dedicated to examining war and peace from interdisciplinary perspectives. Its eight contributions explore the relationship between violence, discourse, democracy, and culture; transformations in contemporary warfare; the medieval experience of war; evil in Hannah Arendt; the possibility of a world without violence; and the pacifist proposals of Kant, Hegel, and Thoreau. The book also analyses cinematic representations of women in different conflicts. Antonio José López Cruces highlights the volume’s thematic breadth and its ability to illuminate philosophically the conditions of warfare and the construction of peace.
