The determining context of the genocide in Gaza: submission or extermination?

Abstract

The aim is to understand the determining context that has enabled the brutal Gaza war, which has lasted more than two years without hostilities ceasing despite the supposed peace agreement. To this end, the internal political context of Israel is explained first. Its current prime minister, B. Netanyahu, was already the leader of Likud and the intellectual instigator of the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, which thwarted the Labor Party's intentions to recognize the PLO's right to a free Palestinian state. The second contextual factor to be explained concerns the ethnic and religious conflict between Arabs and Jews, which dates back to the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the First World War. Understanding the shifts in British administration over the territories of Palestine requires going back to the historical changes that affected the warring peoples, at least since the Enlightenment, but which has as its immediate antecedent the Arab Revolt. Finally, the third factor forces us to delve deeper into the relationships between Islamic jihad and the process of globalization that have come to define the geostrategic contours of the current conservative tide, whose most extreme leadership is held by President Donald Trump.
