Abstract

The present paper carries out a phenomenological analysis of Bruce Nauman’s 1970 work  “Live-Taped Video Corridor” focusing on the manner in which Nauman unveils, throughout some perceptual shifts brought on by his installations, certain limits of experience which Phenomenology also intends to come to grips with. Special attention will be paid to the relation between ‘real’ and ‘virtual’ as well as to the interplay, as found in Nauman’s work, between some basic elements from the Husserlian phenomenology of imagination, namely Bildding, Bildsujet and Bildobjekt.
