La figura del empiétement en Merleau-Ponty : Notas sobre la relación con el otro y la pintura

Abstract

Taking into account that the philosophy of Merleau-Ponty is characterized as a philosophy of the intertwining, of correlation beyond any dualism, we introduce in this work the category of empiétement as one of the key categories of the Merleau-Ponty’s corpus capable of facing the problem of the other, referring in turn to the implication or "superposition" of a world of perception and a world of expression. In this way, we conclude with the theme of expression specifically in reference to the subject of painting where, once again, the exchange of a sensitive world and a cultural world is made present through a particular way of crossing or empiétement.
