Abstract

This essay is a review of the figure of the English philosopher Derek Parfit on the first anniversary of his death. Parfit was one of the main voices of analytical philosophy in the field of moral philosophy and metaphysics. From his work, we highlight the important contribution of Reasons and People to the investigation of the problem of personal identity. An inescapable contribution for anyone who wants to enter the study of this question, not only by the power of the thesis he supports, but also, from the point of view of the history of philosophy, by the interesting synthesis that previous theories make.
