Valéry anti-‐‑moderno: de la “poesía pura” al yo posible

Abstract

Paul Valéry, one of the most important French symbolist poets, along with Mallarmé, creates a “Pure poetry” that contains elements of an anti-‐‑modern thought, a criticism of modern values, such as novelty, democratic issues, and modern subjectivity in Descartes’ thought. Aristocratic poetry, Valery’s spiritualist and intellectualist poetry faces the cogito experience of Descartes’ philosophy, from an anti-‐‑modern point of view
