Abstract

The text revisits the idea of a Southern phenomenology as a critical alternative to the phenomenological traditions of Northern Europe. The author questions Husserl's notion of philosophy as a rigorous science and Marc Richir's skeptical phenomenology in the face of quantum physics. The key to this new phenomenology lies in the connection between equalization through decay and absolute horizontal transcendence, a transcendence of the East.

The central axis of this approach is time, understood as that which historically shapes reality without having an origin, though it does have an end linked to the dissolution of the universe. At this limit, horizontal transcendence appears as a new support for the real: a «hope without waiting». The transition from classical physics to quantum physics ¾with properties such as quantization, uncertainty, and entanglement¾ parallels the shift from classical philosophy to this Southern phenomenology. Transcendence guarantees reality against the hypothesis of life as a dream and culminates in a final retroaction that totalizes and sustains everything that previously existed.
