Abstract

In 2017 I published in Eikasía an article dedicated, like this one, to Ricardo Sánchez Ortiz de Urbina, entitled «Talking, reading, writing». Now, in this well-deserved tribute, I return to those impressions trying to apply Urbina's teachings, inexhaustible, necessary and essential. It is therefore an act of recognition.

Writing is an action that faces an imprecise horizon, since at the beginning, in the first sentences, we cannot guess what its development will be, the variations, the complexities, the obstacles that we will encounter as we advance in writing. There is thus a teleological aspect to the verb «to write». We write about this or that, even for the «mere act» of writing. But, in any case, «writing» implies or requires a regulatory idea, or an argument, as Juan Benet highlighted as a condition for writing a novel.
