Abstract
This article reviews the story of E. A. Poe "ʺThe Purloined Letter"ʺ according to the analysis made by Lacan, Derrida and Zizek lately. On the Lacanian reading of the letter is limited around Freud'ʹs theories on repetition automatism and the role of the signifier, its meaning and function, and its relation to the signified in contrast to the Saussure`s thesis. Derrida'ʹs poststructuralist reading in relation to reading Poe text analyzes the signified and the signifier from a position that take distance from the Lacanian reading. And finally, the article discusses the synthetic position of Zizek, who agglutinates in his analysis of the letter Lacanian and Derridean visions.
