Sobre predicación: Aristóteles, Thom y el temple cuántico

Abstract

Aristotle’s distinction between two basic types of predication has had a pervasive impact on Western thought tradition. se Logic, Grammar and Mathematics (in some of its basic formalisms) have been distinctively and deeply shaped by it. Besides, the fundamental split between logicist and psychologist schools within those fields also draws its path back to those ancient roots. René Thom is to be credited for a very fruitful revival of Aristotelism in the study of language (as well as in other domains of knowledge) in the last four or five decades, incorporating very powerful tools of analysis which have lead to a new and enriched view of predication. The present paper very briefly sketches how Thom’s diagramatic account of predication can be successfully linked to the most recent insights on language structure and processing, namely on quantum annealing, which hinges on the discovery that the categorical braid group represents the mathematical scheme underlying language, human or else.
