Abstract
Contemporary criticism of the notion of subject introduces a new perspective of the modern will and self-control. Now, fragmented and split even where it was thought to possess more control, the subject must face the question about his chances of historical action. We believe that one of the risks of postmodern criticism is "desubjectivation" of the human being, understood as the denial of its capability of being creator and historical actor. We will show some reviews of this process and its theoretical implications, particularly in Odo Marquard´s thesis: "the art of not being". According to this thesis, the man denies his status as an actor attributing to an “trascendental another” the responsibility for what has been, keeping for himself the comfortable situation of "that is yet to do." We end this paper by considering a revision of the notion of autonomy of this contemporary "subject" taking into account the contributions of the responsibility of Marquard and Manuel Cruz.
