Hacia una “experiencia del fin”. Una lectura sobre la decadencia como clave de la temporalidad benjaminiana

Abstract

The aim of the present article is to analyze critically one of the most frequent interpretations of Walter Benjamin’s work, the idea that it could be possible to find as a main topic of his thought a deep concern for the statute of contemporary experience in terms of its disappearance and impossibility. To do this, going back to the notion of “origin” that Benjamin develops in The Origin of German Tragic Drama we will try to explain how Benjamin’s conception of temporality makes impossible the idea of “the End of experience” and, on the contrary, invite us to reflect on a peculiar “experience of the End”.
