Abstract
Among the studies on Lamarck’s works is often overlooked the Recherches sur l' organization des corps vivants (1802), never translate into English. However, two reasons make this work important: be the first in which it is stated that living bodies of all orders have been formed successively (over half a century ahead of the Darwinist thesis) and the original procedure that Lamarck uses in his demonstration to avoid being branded as speculative system.
