Abstract
The text starts from the problems posed by the cultivated plants to the agrobiodiversity policies (agricultural diversity) to then approach the vegetal borders in three levels. At the political level, the boundaries are created from the need to stabilize the characteristic properties of plants to delimit their centers of origin. At the biological level, the debate operates by distinguishing two temporalities, one historical and other evolutionary, based on the idea of cultivation as a selection of phenotypes and domestication as stabilizing of genotype. Finally, the article also tries to find resonances of the Aristotelian theory of the act and potency in the way neo-darwinism understands the vegetal individuation. Some considerations about this schema of thought will also serve us as a contrast, especially in regard to the neglect of the ontogenetic dimension of individuation.
