At school with no wall around. Letters from Rimini

Abstract

The article is focused on a secondary school project (called “Another Brick in the Wall”) which provides young students with knowledges on the huge presence of separation-walls all around the world. A way to face the tendency to segregation, hate and racism is reasoning on the ideas of “me”, “us” and “the other”, starting from old stereotypes often confirmed also by school-teachers, as the one about the Roman Empire, that could give the students the wrong concept of a well-ordered space, built on civilization, set in rivalry with the wild barbarism of the “others” coming from abroad.
