Historia e historiología en Ortega y Gasset: Notas para la construcción de una ontología regional pura de la ciencia histórica

Abstract

This paper deals with Ortega´s proposal of developing an ontological framework being able to grasp the essential core of history as empirical science. The Spanish philosopher aimed to work out – at least then years before Husserl – a non- factual material ontology of the history. Ortega baptizes this new material ontology of history with the name of historiology. This paper undertakes the project of clarifying the similarities and differences between historiology as the ontological basis of history and the natural sciences.
