Arquitectura y fenomenología: Sobre La arquitectónica de la «indeterminación» en el espacio

Abstract

The current research aims at presenting the main conclusions of phenomenological aesthetics around the constitution of space and the conditions that make the art experience possible. First of all, our study will commence from the historical antecedents of Husserlian thought at the beginning of the 20th century to reach the latest most recent research on the process of constitution of space and on the subjective dynamics involved in this process. Secondly, it will elucidate the concept of «indeterminacy» as applied to the major trends of contemporary architecture, by giving a critical review of the main historical proposals of twentieth century architecture in the light of their phenomenological interpretation. Thirdly, it will project the phenomenological description of the "ʺplaces of indeterminacy"ʺ in the urban planning of public space. Finally, the study will attempt to show the origin of the "ʺrhythm"ʺ (Rhythmik) in the joint systems that have set the major current architectural trends.
