Abstract

The aim of this paper is to compare the opposite view that literature and some creations of romantic art had on some central themes of Enlightenment thought: the concept of reason, religious experience, the meaning of science and nature. In each section, for obvious reasons of space, I spend a brief introduction and then presents illustrated from the field of aesthetics, for romantic thesis. In each case, show the investment of ideas and values illustrated by reflecting on various genres, namely, the horror story, painting, music and even photography.
