Abstract

Through   this   article   we   would   like   to   explore   one   of   the

most  popular  characterizations  of  human  nature,  one  which

shows   the   agonistic   conflict   experienced   by   humans   before

the   need   to   build   and   reaffirm   their   identity   and

individuality   within   society.   In   order   to   do   this,   we   will

review   the   ethical-‐‑anthropological   conception   of   Charles

Taylor,   explaining   the   intrinsic   and   mutual   interrelation   of

both  philosophical  disciplines,  from  the  ideal  of  authenticity

and   the   construction   of   modern   identity   within   a   language

community.
