Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the reasons why individuals in contemporary society exhibit a low capacity for critical thinking. A reality dominated by technology and neoliberalism leaves workers with little time to reflect critically on the problems surrounding them, resulting in political alienation and an inability to express independent opinions not mediated by mass media. This situation has led to the rise of the fascist far right, driven by human technological dependence, through which individuals become what Marcuse termed the one-dimensional man.
