Abstract
Among the numerous activities undertaken by the José Ortega y Gasset International Chair, promoted by the UNED (National University of Distance Education) and the Sicomoro Foundation, directed by Tomás Domingo Moratalla and coordinated by Noé Expósito Ropero, is the publication of works not only by this philosopher, but also by prominent disciples and members of the so-called Madrid School. The work under review is, in fact, the author's first philosophical work, or at least his first philosophically significant one—given that the author had previously ventured into other fields of writing or published various articles. It consists of twenty-one letters that address diverse elements that can be considered an introduction to philosophy, although neither fully systematic nor purely historical. In the first group, with an introductory tone, he points out ideas that he will later explore in greater depth. In the second group, he provides an excellent introduction to phenomenology, and in the third group, to the thought of Ortega y Gasset.
