Abstract
We examine the dialogue between stromatology and philosophical materialism, analyzing the points of friction and their respective gnoseological implications. It is argued that the confrontation between phenomenology and philosophy can lead to a false στάσις, discord and stagnation, where a struggle of positions is perpetuated without real progress.
The text explores how the hyperbolic epokhê can lead to a conceptual retreat or methodological confinement. Stromatology, in contrast to classical phenomenology, rebounded as nematology, introduces the concept of intentional field, a mediating space between pure transcendence and the flat natural world, which allows a reconciliation between science and phenomenology without falling into extreme idealisms or reductionist materialisms.
The notion of Urbinian phenomenological materialism is studied, which attempts to articulate phenomenology within a materialist framework, differentiating it from the classical philosophical materialism of Gustavo Bueno. Finally, Bueno's pycnological processes and their relationship with the «φρένες» as the dense cognitive structures that organize knowledge are analyzed. It is concluded that «phenomenological philosophy» offers an alternative where improper intentional knowledge is realized.
