Abstract
This article I attempt to analyze the notion of vocation in Dietrich von Hildebrand's thought. Initially, the different intentional experiences will be distinguished, according to this philosopher. Subsequently, the three categories of motivation that motivate these experiences, especially the values. After that, it will be identified that the primary or natural vocation of the entire human person, according to Hildebrand, is capture, to be affected and to respond to values, especially morally relevant values. The Christian religion brings news to the world of values. In this sense, we will later analyze what the supernatural vocation of the human person consists of and how it relates to the natural one.
